Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions as on 21st April 2025:
- Educational Qualification:
- JSA: 10+2/XII or equivalent with proficiency in computer typing as per DoPT norms.
- JST: 10+2/XII or equivalent with proficiency in stenography as per DoPT norms.
- Age Limit:
- JSA: Not exceeding 28 years
- JST: Not exceeding 27 years
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (NCL): 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years (UR), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST)
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years (after military service deduction)
- CSIR Departmental Candidates: No upper age limit
- Widows/Divorced Women: Up to 35 years (40 years for SC/ST)

Selection Process
- Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA):
- Written Exam:
- Paper-I: Mental Ability Test (100 questions, 200 marks, 90 minutes, no negative marking).
- Paper-II: General Awareness & English Language (100 questions, 300 marks, 1 hour, 1 mark negative for wrong answers).
- Typing Test: 35 w.p.m. (English) or 30 w.p.m. (Hindi), qualifying in nature.

- Written Exam:
- Single Paper: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, English Language & Comprehension (200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours, 0.25 negative marking).
- Stenography Test: 80 w.p.m. dictation (10 minutes), transcription time: 50 min (English) or 65 min (Hindi), qualifying in nature.
- Written Exam:
- Merit list will be based on written exam scores for candidates qualifying the proficiency tests.
